When you apply for a vehicle title transfer, you should pay the following fees depending on your vehicle

  • $31.25 fee for new vehicles

  • $29.25 fee for vehicles that were last registered in Florida.

  • $33.25 fee for vehicles that were last registered outside of Florida

  • $2 lien recording fee, if needed

  • $7 expedited service fee, if needed

  • sales tax

In case of death of the vehicle owner, the title is usually transferred to the owner's heir or somebody who is stated in the owner's will. The procedure and costs are quite similar to the previous. There are cases when the heirs are required to provide verified copies of the death certificate and the will as a proof.
